How long does it take to stay at Tanigawadake Joch?
Ropeway only: Round trip by ropeway takes about 30 minutes.
Ropeway and lift: Round trip by ropeway takes about 30 minutes, and round trip by lift takes about 20 minutes.
Ropeway and restaurant: Approximately 1.5 hours.
Ropeway and stroll: Approximately 1.5 hours.
Ropeway and a loop around Tenjin Pass: Approximately 2 hours.

Can I see Mt. Tanigawa from the ropeway?
You can see Mt. Tanigawa from the ropeway around summit station. For a 360-degree panoramic view, please use the lift further on.
Q.
Are there any days off?
We have two maintenance closures per year, in April and November.
We are open daily from May to October. For winter closing days, please check our official website or SNS.
Q.
What kind of clothes should I wear?
The temperature is about 5 degrees Celsius lower than in Minakami town. Please bring an extra jacket.
Q.
What kind of flowers can I see?
May-June: Bulbous Fritillary, Common Bleeding Heart, Asian Skunk Cabbage
July-August: Nikko Daylily, Monkshood, Fireweed
September: Gentiana triflora, Japanese Thoroughwort, Goldenrod

What is there to see after getting off the ropeway?
There is a restaurant called "View Terrace Tenjin," free outdoor play equipment, a sightseeing lift, an observation deck, and hiking trails.

How long does it take to walk around Tenjindaira?
It takes about 60 minutes.

Are there any bears?
Bears inhabit the area around Mt. Tanigawa. Although safety measures are in place, we recommend that customers who plan to hike or climb bring bear bells or other noise-making devices.

Dining

Are there any places to eat at Tanigawadake Joch?
Yes, there are two places within the facility.

View Terrace Tenjin: A spacious restaurant with a panoramic view located at the top of the ropeway. We recommend the mountain speciality "Tanigawa Alpine Gratin"
Tenjin Cafe: A take-out cafe directly connected to the Tenjin Pass observation deck. We offer seasonal recommended drinks, hot dogs, and other light meals.

Can I bring my pet to the restaurant?
We apologize, but pets are not allowed in the "View Terrace Tenjin."
Pets are welcome at Tenjin Cafe. However, only pets that can ride the lift are allowed.

Are there any restrooms at the summit?
There are three restrooms: inside Tenjindaira Station, inside the restaurant "View Terrace Tenjin," and at Tenjin Pass.

Where is the smoking area?
In front of the front entrance of the base plaza, and at the entrance to the restaurant "View Terrace Tenjin".

Are there any lockers that can fit a suitcase?
They are the size of carry-on luggage.

What is the size of the locker?
The maximum size is 360mm x 480mm x 770mm.

What payment methods can I use?
We accept various credit cards and transportation IC cards.

Group rates apply to groups of 30 or more.

Is there a discount for people with disabilities?
Yes, there is. People with a first-class disability certificate or a care required mark, as well as one companion, are eligible for a discount.

Ropeway

Will the service be suspended in case of rain?
We will operate except in special cases such as when a warning is issued.

What time is the departure time?
Approximately every 3 minutes after the start of operations.
Q.
How long does a one-way trip take?
It takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Q.
How much time do I need for sightseeing?
If you use both the ropeway and the lift, it will take about 90 minutes.
Q.
Can I return with a one-way ticket for sightseeing?
We do not recommend it as the downhill course is rough.
Q.
What kind of clothing and shoes should I wear for sightseeing?
While full mountaineering equipment is not necessary, please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

We recommend wearing sneakers or better.
The temperature is 5-10 degrees Celsius lower than in the city, so we recommend bringing a light jacket.
A hat is recommended as the sun is strong in summer.

How far do I have to walk from the ropeway station to the lift?
It is about 30 meters from the ropeway summit station exit.
Q.
Can I take my dog on the ropeway?
Yes. Please contain your pet in a pet cage or carry bag.
Q.
Can I take a large dog on the ropeway?
You can ride if you can put it in a cage during the ride. Please contact us for details as there is an upper limit on the size of the cage we provide.

Can I use a round-trip ticket if I'm returning tomorrow?
It is valid for 4 days from the date of sale.

Can I ride with a stroller?
Yes, you can.

Is there a place to leave strollers?
There is no designated place, so please ask a nearby staff member.

Lift

How long does a one-way trip take?
A one-way trip takes approximately 10 minutes.

Can children ride?
Yes, children can ride.
Q.
How many people can ride the lift at a time?
The capacity is 2 people. 3 people including babies and preschoolers cannot ride.
Q.
Can pets ride?
Yes, pets can ride. However, we may refuse to carry large dogs or other animals that cannot ride.

Can people with mobility impairments use this?
Since the lift is always moving, it is intended for people who can walk on their own.
Q.
Does the lift operate even in the rain?
We are open even in rainy weather (except in strong winds or thunderstorms).
Q.
How long does it take to walk from Tenjin Toge to Tenjindaira Station?
Rainbow Promenade takes about 20 minutes, and the hiking trail takes about 40 minutes.
Q.
Can I ride with an umbrella?
Yes, you can. However, for safety reasons, please fold it when getting on and off.

I'm afraid of heights. How high is it from the ground?
The highest point is about 2 meters.

Is it easier or faster to take the lift for hiking?
The required time and fatigue level are almost the same. On a clear day, you can enjoy a wonderful view.

Can I purchase a lift ticket after taking the ropeway?
Yes, you can. Tickets are sold at Tenjindaira Station.

I bought a combined ticket, but it rained so I didn't ride. Can I get a refund?
We cannot offer refunds due to customer circumstances.

Parking

Q.
I plan to arrive at night. From what time can I enter the parking lot?
Vehicles under 220 cm in height can enter the 1st floor 24 hours a day.
However, during the busy season of autumn foliage in October, nighttime entry may be prohibited on certain days. Please check the official website for details.
Q.
When should I pay the parking fee in that case?
Please pay the attendant when you exit.
Q.
Can I park a camping car?
Vehicles with a high roof can be parked on the 6th floor. (Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm)

How many cars can be parked?
Approximately 700 cars.
