Gondolas Adorned with Alpine Flower Art, Café & Craft Experiences

A Floating Botanical Garden at 1,300 Meters Above Sea Level

Thanks to its rugged terrain and unique geology, Mount Tanigawa becomes a vibrant home to over 100 species of alpine plants starting in spring. However, some of these rare varieties blossom only for a brief period or deep within the mountains. To make the charm of these precious alpine flowers more accessible to everyone, we are thrilled to debut the "Botanical Gondola" this year.

The Botanical Gondola: Adorned with Alpine Flower Art

Our spacious gondolas comfortably accommodate up to 22 passengers. Inside, you can admire a stunning collection of alpine flowers—varieties that rarely bloom at the same time in nature—beautifully recreated through artificial flower art. The interior also features warm, rustic touches crafted from thinned wood sourced from local forest conservation efforts in Minakami Town. Enjoy a relaxing, private journey surrounded by gorgeous botanical art.

Craft Experience: Making "Spring Bud" Tassels

To round off your journey, join our craft experience and give shape to the beautiful "colors" of the alpine plants you discovered on your stroll. You can create a unique charm using colorful threads that reflect spring blooms—such as the purple of the Asian fawn lily (katakuri) and the pink of the fringed galax (iwakagami)—paired with charms designed after four iconic petals, including the Shortia (iwauchiha) and the Leontopodium (hosoba-hina-usuyukisou).
